Silicone Molds (Most common):
Shave all areas to be casted. Keep in mind silicone does drip and run. Silicone will pull out hair. We can treat very short hair such as eyebrows and eye lashes but there is always a risk that some hair will be removed.
Alginate Molds:
Alginate can be casted over areas of hair. Shaving is not necessary. Email us if you intend to cast over hair longer than 1/4 inch.
Shower and be sure to rinse thoroughly. You do not want any soap residue left behind.
You may use lotion or moisturizer the night before.
Don't shave the morning before casting. Shaving causes irritations and bumps that will show in your casting.
(If your hair grows fast, a light shave is ok. Rinse off any shaving cream thoroughly.)
DO NOT use any soaps the morning before your casting.
A rinse (water) only shower is ok but we recommend not shower the morning of.
DO NOT use any lotions or moisturizers the morning before your session.
DO NOT use any makeup or perfumes on the area to be casted.
Dress comfy.
You're not here to impress anyone. Wear what you like. Keep in mind that clothing you don't want ruined may need to be removed.
Some casting can take several hours of posing and not moving. Sometimes just having a friend can make it easier. Please feel free to invite a friend.
